{"id":16763,"date":"2016-11-14T08:16:09","date_gmt":"2016-11-14T08:16:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amarinafarm.com.au\/site\/?p=16763"},"modified":"2016-11-14T08:16:09","modified_gmt":"2016-11-14T08:16:09","slug":"amarina-graduates-on-a-roll","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amarinafarm.com.au\/site\/2016\/11\/14\/amarina-graduates-on-a-roll\/","title":{"rendered":"Amarina graduates on a roll"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A run of good results has kept the winning tally ticking over for horses born, raised or sold by Amarina Farm.<\/p>\n<p>Following on from stakes wins by <strong>Sheidel<\/strong> (Holy Roman Emperor x Laventour) and <strong>Artistry<\/strong> (Shamardal x Lady Peony), the farm has had seven winners in four days starting on November ninth.<\/p>\n<p>Midweek racing kicked off the succession with <strong>Defiant Witness<\/strong> (Star Witness x Angelic Belle), who was born on the farm in 2012, winning on debut at Balaklava.<\/p>\n<p>The four-year-old is trained by Phillip Stokes and owned by Ultra Thoroughbreds, the same connections that raced his half-brother <strong>Defiant Angel<\/strong> (Dehere) who was sold from Amarina\u2019s 2011 Magic Millions draft.<\/p>\n<p>Another winning on debut on the Wednesday was <strong>Never Out<\/strong> (Star Witness x Jesterchine) who took out a 1000m event at Gosford.<\/p>\n<p>A $57,500 Inglis Classic purchase from the 2015 draft of Amarina Farm, Never Out is trained by Kim Waugh and owned by a group of high level cricket players who named her as a tribute to Phillip Hughes who died after he was hit by a ball while 63 not out in a Sheffield Shield match in November 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The third Wednesday winner was the Clinton McDonald trained <strong>Danuki<\/strong> (Exceed and Excel x Miduki) who capitalised on a good run of form to win at Bendigo. The four-year-old was born at Amarina in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Winner number four came in the form of <strong>Petracca<\/strong> (Starcraft x Allowable). A $77,500 graduate of Amarina\u2019s 2014 Inglis Classic draft, Petracca won over 1400m at Echuca for the Darren Weir stable.<\/p>\n<p>The final three victors all raced on the Saturday. In New Zealand the inform Michael and Mathew Pitman stable had <strong>Flying Ibis<\/strong> (Nadeem x Fiery Sunset) (pictured)\u00a0win at Riccarton on the last day of the New Zealand Cup Carnival. The $55,000 2010 Inglis Weanling Sale graduate clocked up his fifth career win.<\/p>\n<p>In Western Australia the Daniel Pearce trained <strong>Keeper Keen<\/strong> (Sebring x Keeper Quiet) was very impressive winning on debut at Ascot over 1100m. The two-year-old gelding was born at Amarina in 2014 for breeders Yarradale Stud and stamped himself as one to watch.<\/p>\n<p>Chris Waller expects <strong>Zumbelina<\/strong> (Stratum x Ruth\u2019s Secret) to step up in the Autumn after a nice win at Rosehill. Richard Treweeke, the lesser known of champion Winx&#8217;s owners, races Zumbelina who was born at Amarina in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Richard gets just as much joy out of winning a race like today as he does the big ones,&#8221; Waller said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He bred Zumbelina and that&#8217;s a big thing.
