Sheidel retired

Group One-winning mare Sheidel (Holy Roman Emperor x Laventour) has been retired and will be covered by Written Tycoon later this year.

The Lindsay Park-trained six-year-old, who won the 2017 Gr.1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m), was retired after finishing 16th in Saturday’s edition of the Caulfield feature.

Raced by Victorian breeders Robert and Sylvia Crabtree, Sheidel was also placed at Group One level on three occasions and retires with a record of 35 starts for 15 wins and seven placings.

She earned $1,699,450 after starting her career in Perth in 2014 with trainer David Harrison.

The Crabtrees’ purchased the mare in early 2016, and she will join their broodmare band at Dorrington Farm near Nagambie in Victoria. -ANZ Bloodstock News
