11 May Artistry primed for Scone challenge
The Peter and Paul Snowden stable is focused on the Scone carnival and they believe that their team is ready to fire with Calanda in the $400,000 Inglis Scone Guineas and the Amarina born and raised Artistry (Shamardal x Lady Peony) in the Gr.3 Dark Jewel.
“I’m happy with both horses and France. They’re going very well,” Paul Snowden said.
Artistry has drawn barrier two for the $200,000 fillies and mares event and will again have the services of Hugh Bowman.
“She carries a touch more weight here. Obviously, winning in Melbourne over the carnival and she’s a Group Three winner but she’s got a soft draw which helps. She’s in very good order,” Snowden said.
“She likes a bit of room which is the only thing. She needs to get out. I’d rather her three-deep with cover than be third the fence.
“Hughy (Bowman) will have that in the back of his mind. It won’t happen again.”
