Amarina also offers agistment for weanlings, yearlings and racehorses whilst spelling.\u00a0Amarina is\u00a0post and rail fenced,\u00a0and fitted with\u00a0electrics to ensure every paddock is safe. All paddocks are irrigated to ensure all horses are always on nutritious feed, with supplementary feeding of grain and hay also provided when required. Mares are monitored 24 hours a day and staff work in conjunction with Scone Veterinary Hospital\u00a0to make sure the birthing process is safe and that mares are prepared for the up-coming breeding season. Amarina was designed so the progress of both mare and foal can be monitored closely until they have developed enough to move into larger paddocks with other small groups at the same stage. The weanlings are then placed in mobs of the same sex, of similar size and age, and with a nanny horse. Amarina is now home to several ‘famous’ nannies, including El Segundo and Typhoon Zed who are spending their retirement passing on their knowledge to the next generation of champions. Each weanling\u00a0is given basic education including having a head-collar put on, leading and having their feet picked up. During the next six months, each group of weanlings are taken through further handling and education where they are rugged, hand-walked, put through the walker, have their feet picked up again and taught general manners.
