Impressive debut from Erno

Rubick continued a promising start to his stud career when the Kim Waugh-trained Erno (2 g ex Little Mary) delivered him with his seventh individual two-year-old winner of the season on Saturday.

A $70,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale graduate from the Amarina Farm draft, Erno showed superior speed to score in a 2YO Maiden (1200m) at Wyong with Serg Lisnyy in the saddle.

Bred by Ralph Johns, who retained a share in the gelding, Erno defeated stablemate Trajection (Smart Missile) by a length.

Maisaa (Zoffany) was another two and a quarter lengths back in third place.

Rubick is also the sire of Gr.2 Todman Stakes (1200m) winner Yes Yes Yes and the stakes-placed Krameric, Biscara and Alburq. -ANZ Bloodstock News
